Testing at RichieRichLabs is showing us the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost will boost the game up to 4K-60 FPS with the Xbox Series X. The news is a sweet treat to us next gen owners as well as future owners since it keeps making an Xbox Series X|S a better deal by the pass of days.

The Xbox Series S is not as impressive , as it only delivers 900p - at 30 FPS in the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost update and since it hasn't received an optimized for Xbox Series X|S update that could increase the resolution of it to a higher level, the Xbox Series S to a higher level, as it is running of the Xbox One S settings, nevertheless, it is a welcomed upgrade for free just in case we don't get an optimized for Xbox Series X|S update or remaster down the road.

The Xbox One X has the same game settings as the Xbox Series X which are higher resolution and performance mode. Both on the Xbox Series X are giving us 60 FPS with the performance mode offering 1080p which mode I don't recommend using unless you really need locked 60 FPS or have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to cover those imperfections.

I personally don't worry to much about it because I have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) television, however, even if I didn't, I wouldn't be concerned about it because the game doesn't decrease the FPS often , and this is not a competitive game , therefore the drops are not that important.

A side note: VRR won't be sufficient when it drops below 50 FPS frequently, since VRR can mask the drops as low as 50, but not below that or else it won't make a difference; yet drops of this kind are extremely rare.

There won't be any graphical changes since this is a behind the scenes improvement of FPS only. I tried the loading, and nothing seemed to change.

As a side note, I got this game purchased at a discount, but did not play it until it came out on the Xbox Game Pass which made me feel stupid to not have waited. I got over it though because it ended up leaving it and I prefer owning my games as much as possible with the exception of Microsoft first party games as they will be in the Xbox Game Pass indefinitely cause Microsoft owns the studio.

malding am telling you this because I want to encourage you to check out my guide to get gratis Xbox Game Pass thru the Microsoft Rewards Program:
